fantastic short story about yellow jackets

I normally read technology related weblogs these days, so when I find a weblog with coding tips and great writing, I’m inclined to thank the writer somehow. I’d like to point you all to Scott Andrew’s weblog and this post about yellow jackets. It’s a refreshing read.

“I squashed it with a newspaper before it could warn the others.”

Great little short story. Thanks Scott.

(ps. he’s got a great little CSS tip above this yellowjacket post.)

It’s so hard to find good writers in the tech world, and I’ve been noticing that at work. I’m not a good writer, by any means, but I understand code (at least, I can figure out other people’s code reliably) and I think that means that I tend to think more linearly, or that I have a more linear brain, whereas the folks I work with in the marketing department of my employer all seem to be able to come up with good ’copy’ at the drop of a hat, but can’t follow code for shit. It’s refreshing to find someone like Scott how seems to be able to meld the two brains together. Writing for writing’s sake, and coding, or at least understanding of code.
