As I said a bit ago, I ordered Israel Kamakawiwo’ole’s Alone in IZ World and I love it.
I bought it for one song, but really love the entire album. IZ’s voice is beautiful as he sings his native language songs set to wonderful music.
Order It, if you think you’d like it.

I’d never heard of this fellow before, but downloaded this song. My wife’s a Wizard of Oz fan, and generally critical of non-Judy Garland versions of the songs, but she’s sitting across the room humming right along. Ha!
now you just need to buy the album… it’s quite good actually.

I heard IZ’s version of over the rainbow played on a yahoo chat session some years ago, but never knew who did it was and never heard it again till today as the ending song to the film “50 first dates”
I was crying by the end of the film and even more so when the song was played.
In the last few hours i’ve listened to some of the other tracks from his album via a friend who has it (via telephone) and would recommend it for the vocal skills at the very least!
I love this song because it reminds me of my grandma!!(which is a good thing) He has such a beautiful voice and makes me want to cry everytime I hear this this song. This song puts you in another state of mind. It realxes you when you are stressed!! It is such a beautiful song I would recomend it to everyone who appreciates anything!!!! Lindsey Suskie age 13
I just got back from Hawaii, and my friends who live there play IZ all the time and that was the first time i heard IZ. Now im going to buy his cd!
do they use the “uke” on the song because it is making me want to buy one. They use it as the background music to 2004 election campaign, it’s working.
I was so happy to finally find who sung this song, I was watching the movie 50 first dates and I heard this song (Somewhere over the rainbow) it was song at my girlfriend Sarah’s funeral, who died unexpectally at 28 on July 4th 2004, The song has opened my heart…it was beautiful, and has so many meanings…thanks for the web site…Bonnie
