PhotoPal 1.0b is out
Published 5 years, 5 months ago in design + devNoel Jackson has released the truly fantastic PhotoPal 1.0b. I’m using it here… you should be too.
Think MovableType templating, with the ease of PHP understanding for a photo store, photo blog, or even just a handy place to hold your images for personal archival and retrieval purposes… truly fantastic.

Photopal looks decent. I am partial to Gallery though. Here is an example: http://www.rydell.com/gallery/
Here is where Gallery lives: http://gallery.sourceforge.net/
No captions! Can you point to a picture of yourself so we can put a face to the name?
I would agree with Paul’s comments about Gallery (I also use it)
However, the drawback to Gallery is it currently is not database driven and once your photo archive becomes large like mine the I/O processes can really bog a server down.
If I was a programmer I would hack the source much like the guys at Napkin Nights did. Their mod is wicked fast. Too bad they haven’t released it.
