Heads up: I’ll likely be adding Google’s AdSense program to this weblog in the coming week or two, mainly as a test. I’m encouraged by this article about boosting your AdSense revenue. I’d recommend you read the article if you publish a website at all, and are interested in getting their program on your website. [via Up2Speed - internet marketing news]
If you’ve got an opinion about me adding AdSense to this weblog to earn some cash, now would be the time to say something…

Have you been accepted? Personal sites aren’t being accepted into the program… At least that’s the official word. John Gruber got in so it’s not iron clad.
It’s worked very well for MobileTracker.net. I’m happy. It will pay the hosting bill and give me a few nights out a month.
Day one was very, very good on http://www.spring.net
Day two has been slow so far.
I’d recommend you try it on this site and encourage your users to not just click away but to really get in and support the sites that pay for all of this. They deserve our support.
We wanted to ad google ads to a magazine site we host for a friend, to try and encourage her to start working on it again. Unfortunately, google thought the site was pornographic.
http://www.avivalasvegas.com is the site in question. While there’s no question that it’s a little racy in places, I’d think it falls well short of pornographic.
Perhaps it’s just my liberal, Canadian upbringing coming into contrast with conservative, moral American values. Didn’t expect that from Google though.
I think I’m going to start a page on adsense rejected sites at http://adsenses.com so folks can see the “misses”.
Do you mind if I quote you on this site to kick off my page on sites rejected by adsense. I’m asking your permission!
To Jon: On the ‘personal site’ question: You have to have a ‘business name’ when you sign up. I happen to own a business and I’ve listed that… as that business technically owns this website.
Just got your email. Thanks for allowing me to quote you on http://adsenses.com/adsenserejects.html
Tom:
You have a link on your main page to something called a “Penis book club” The link is through a graphic, which has a penis puppet on it.
9 out of 10 editors would consider that “not suitable” It is a matter of not offending your advertisers sensibilities not the editor’s sensibilities
