Jeremy Wright asked me to tell him how to put full posts in his RSS templates, so, here are all of my RSS feeds and their templates:
- RSS 1.0 Full Feed, with complete HTML markup and comments. [template]
- RSS 1.0 Full Feed, with complete HTML markup but without comments. [template]
- RSS 1.0 Full Feed, without HTML markup and no comments (basically my work-safe RSS feed… contains no images) [template]
- RDF 2.0 feed with full complete HTML markup and no comments [template]
- RSS 1.0 comments feed [template]
So, while this post isn’t a tutorial on “how to create your own Full Post RSS feed, I hope it can give you some insight into how I did it, and if you want to do it yourself, you’re free to steal the code pieces it requires from me…
Also, you can read some old (possibly outdated) posts on this same subject here:
Fantastic, thanks mate
Comments one doesn’t seem to be working, but thanks for the others, definitely helps
Great resource but I have a question…
Should we still be posting RSS 1.0 feeds when RSS 2.0 is out? If so for how much longer?
Thanks for the templates!
Jeremy,
That’s weird that the comments feed doesn’t work for you… it works for me… a little help anyone?
RSS 2.0 does not replace RSS 2.0. There’s a log story about a war and a forking of RSS devlopement. One group made RSS 1.0 while another went on to make RSS.091, 0.92 and then 2.0.
Many would argue, I being on, that RSS 1.0 is more advanced, powerful and featurful than RSS 2.0.
Whee! Swiped the code from you, thank you very much.
I couldn’t even look at the templates. I just got this error:
The XML page cannot be displayed
Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct the error and then click the Refresh button, or try again later.

I absolutely like your header picture. I was wondering if I could have your permission to “Steal” it?
