There is no period after the &quot;S&quot; in Harry&#039;s name. It&#039;s not an abbreviation. The letter &quot;S&quot;, all on its own, is his middle name.



Most people make this mistake, sometimes even Missourians. There&#039;s a stone monument to Harry there (can&#039;t remember in which city) that gets it wrong, even though they drill it in to us in elementary school how to spell it correctly.
