Upgrading to MT 3.1
Published 3 years, 11 months ago in Moveable TypeI’ve been threatening to upgrade to MovableType 3.1 for a little while, and have decided I’m finally going to do it.
Last night I backed up my website, and will be doing the upgrade either today, or later this week (just maybe over the weekend, but more than likely I’ll be doing it earlier than that).
Why the upgrade you might ask after being satisfied with MT 2.64 for so long? Well, I’m starting a new project, and I need the subcategories feature, and don’t want to just use another plugin on 2.64, and I’m hoping I get a little performance boost out of MT 3.1. I was a donor back when I first started using MT, so I’ll get a little price break, if I decide to pay for 3.1 after the upgrade.
If things look funky around here for a bit, it’s because I screwed something up, and I’m apologizing for that in advance ![]()

good luck. let me know how the upgrade went and how you like it.
Why not try WordPress? It’s free.
Can you use this as a chance to take comments out of your RSS feed? Maybe offering them as a separate feed instead?
Jeremy,
I personally enjoy having the comments in my feed, and offer a few feeds, just to help folks that don’t want my default preference. Look at the feeds on the right side of my weblog’s index page (bottom of the side-bar) and let me know if there isn’t a feed that suits your purpose.
