What version of Flash do I have installed?

Have you ever wondered what version of Flash you have installed?

I needed to know what version I had installed this weekend, and I found this page:

http://www.quirksmode.org/js/flash.html

If you visit that website, it’ll tell you what version I have. I have Flash 8… nice to know, and almost impossible to find out using Safari on a Mac without that page… I don’t even know where to start to look…

Perhaps because I have enabled the Safari Debug menu, I have a Help->Installed Plug-ins menu item. This opens which lists the versions.

    Do a search for ‘flash’.

Find a file named ‘flash player.plugin’ in the Internet Plug-Ins folder.

    Highlight and Get Info.

    7.0 r24

Better than the site that says merely, Version 7.

The macromedia website takes you to an acknowledgement page that shows the full version number after you install:

In your address bar type: about:plugins
All plug-ins and their versions should be listed. Works in Opera also. Does not work in IE 6.
